Appointment Status Definition
- Booked-Patient is scheduled but hasn't been checked in
- Kept-Patient is in the process of being checked in
- Waiting for Provider-Patient is ready for provider/bill has not been submitted
- Checked Out-Patient has been checked out, but a service code may not have been submitted (Needs to be reviewed)
- Chart Incomplete- No service code was submitted
- Discharge-Service bill has been submitted (i.e.-Cardiology)
Wait Time
The wait time that is displayed in the appointments starts when the patient is checked in from the front office. The time stops when the patient is checked out from the front office.
Note: Front office use PM (practice management) another NextGen application when checking in/checking out patients.
Updating Status
Medical assistants are updating patient tracking status and review the schedule throughout the day for statuses of 'Checked Out', 'Chart Incomplete' and 'Waiting for Provider'.
