Learning Objectives – NextGen (5.8/8.3)

Upon completion of training, participants should be able to:

· Sign on to the NextGen EHR application and select a provider, location, and patient.

· Open EHR to the 8.3 Framework Templates.

· Perform a Four-Point Check.

· Complete a KBM Workflow.

· Obtain and manage patient information, including:

o Vital Signs.

o Medications

o Allergies

o Chronic conditions.

o Reason for today's visit.

o History of Presenting Illness.

· Document the findings from the patient's physical exam.

· Select the Assessment for today's encounter.

· Formulate an individualized Treatment Plan for the patient.

· Prescribe a medication.

· Submit a billing code.

· Generate an end of encounter Master Document, summarizing today's encounter details.

· Close the patient and log out of the EHR.
