Accessing Template
1. After opening patient chart and performing the 4-point check, click ‘Assessment/Plan’ panel to open the template. A/P is usually located on the SOAP template. Click ‘Labs’ tab to open.
Adding Lab(s)
1. Check if the order is being performed with LabCorp or Pathology by selecting the radio button.
2. Select the desired assessment(s) to submit will lab(s). Note diagnosis codes must appear in boxes shown below.
3. Select the desired lab(s) from the grid below. Or use search tool or quick lab buttons to select labs.
4. Selected labs will show in the 'Pending Test' grid.
AOE Questions
1. Some tests will require to answer AOE (ask at order entry) questions. An answer must be entered when ordering test(s).
2. After entering answers, labs will be in the 'Pending Tests' grid. AOE questions and answers will show at the bottom of the template in the 'Pending AOE grid.'
3. After entry, click the 'Place Order' button to submit labs.
Lab Summary
1. In the 'Lab Summary' section can change the status of the lab, enter comments and enter future test dates for orders to be completed.
2. Check 'Patient send to LabCorp Service Center' if the patient was sent to place. Action buttons are available.
Submit Order(s)
1. After entry, click the ‘Place Order’ button. The tasking window will prompt. If needing to submit to a recipient, select desired, click ‘Add’ button then clicks ok.
2. Click the 'Requisition' button to generate and print out the form.
