Clicking on email attachments or links are the most common ways to infect a system.
If an e-mail comes into your inbox that is suspicious in any way (unknown sender, suspicious links and/or attachments), check with IT help desk before responding, clicking on a link within the email or opening any attachment.
If you have questions about the validity of the email, you can check with IT by forwarding the e-mail to [email protected]
When forwarding the e-mail, include a brief description of why you feel this e-mail is suspicious.
